Maybe UFC president Dana White spoke too soon when he said Brazil will see around 13 shows next year. Marshall Zelaznik, UFC Managing director of international development, said the boss regretted that statement almost immediately.
“I think it shows his passion and intense for Brazil,” said Zelaznik. “I don’t know we’ll get 13 events here next year. I think it would be more like what we did this year. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less.”
Soccer’s World Cup in June and July was one major issue. The UFC doesn’t know if they should run a show during that time period.
Zelaznik concluded we’ll have to see how 2014 plays out for Brazil.
