UFC hall of famer Mark Coleman and B.J. Penn have been friends for a long time, with the duo working together on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 19.
Penn, who is coaching opposite Frankie Edgar on the reality show, will be bringing Coleman onto his team.
“Hopefully he respects my ability to coach some wrestling and hopefully help his team win this Ultimate Fighter,” said Coleman to FOX Sports. “That’s the goal to win in the end. I guess he’s got confidence in me and he offered me the position to be his wrestling coach on the show. I’m extremely honored and excited to be on the show.”
Edgar is 1-1 since making the cut to featherweight. Penn hasn’t fought in about a year and some had called for his retirement.
TUF 19 airs in 2014 with Penn-Edgar on deck.
