Manhunt Underway for British Muay-Thai Kickboxer, Wanted for Murder of U.S. Marine

Lee Aldhouse accused of murder

From MSNBC comes this disheartening bit of news.

BANGKOK — Lee Aldhouse of Britain and American Dashawn Longfellow both had a passion for Muay Thai, the Thai martial art of kickboxing. But it was in a bar, not a fighting ring, where their lives intersected — with a deadly result…The fateful encounter between foreigners on the Thai southern resort island of Phuket left Longfellow dead and Aldhouse, who authorities say killed him, apparently on the run…Longfellow, the 23-year-old former U.S. marine who Aldhouse allegedly stabbed to death early Saturday morning, is a decorated war hero who had served with distinction in both Iraq and Afghanistan…Aldhouse, 28, is from England and arrived in Phuket in 2006 to train at Rawai Muay Thai. He had a number of Muay Thai fights for the gym but was eventually asked to leave after allegedly assaulting his English girlfriend, according to the owner of the Rawai Muay Thai facility.

MSNBC elaborates on the manhunt.

BANGKOK — A manhunt was underway on a Thai island for a British kickboxer who allegedly picked a fight with an American tourist at a bar, followed him back to his hotel and stabbed him to death…The body of Dashawn Longfellow, 23, a former Marine who was awarded the Purple Heart, was found before dawn Saturday at the Yanui Paradise Resort on the island of Phuket with several stab wounds in his chest, said police Lt. Col. Anukul Nuket.

The letters on Aldhouse’s waistband stand for “Nai Harn Boxing Club” and they have a website. A terribly sad story in the world of combat sports to say the least, hopefully he is found and brought to justice.

Here is one of Aldhouse’s muay-thai fights.
