Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida officially resigned with the promotion, agreeing to a new contract on Monday.
“It’s a done deal,” Ed Soares posted on Twitter, along with a picture of Machida signing his contract in the UFC’s office. “Thank you Lorenzo Fertitta, Dana White, UFC.”
Machida was without a deal after defeating Mark Munoz recently. He moved down to middleweight and agreed to face Gegard Mousasi in February at UFC Fight Night.
