Former Strikeforce champion Luke Rockhold had a near-flawless weekend, earning a quick submission victory over Tim Boetsch and positioning himself nicely in the UFC’s middleweight division.
It wasn’t quite perfect, though, because Rockhold didn’t escape the Octagon without injury. The fighter suffered damage to his right big toe from a ‘run-in’ with the cage.
“Looks like I’ll have to put the surf trip on hold for a few weeks,” Rockhold posted. “Cages and toes don’t mix well.”
The win was his second straight finish since a 2013 loss to Vitor Belfort.
