Former UFC heavyweight Lavar Johnson has a new home in Bellator.
After a few years in Strikeforce, Johnson made his way onto the UFC roster. Everything started great with Johnson taking back-to-back Knockout of the Night honors for his first round stoppages. A quick submission defeat to Stefan Struve and decision loss to Brendan Schaub made him 2-2 for the promotion.
In his last fight with Schaub, Johnson didn’t disclose he was using TRT and had his license suspended as a result. The suspension has since expired. He was also released by the UFC at that time.
The MMA Report has Johnson entering Bellator’s Season 9 heavyweight tournament alongside former UFC fighter Cheick Kongo.
Bellator is yet to announce participates for the heavyweight tournament.
