Former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks and ex-Ultimate Fighter winner Kelvin Gastelum are both coming off losses.
Each fighter is also currently without an opponent, so what better place than UFC 200 for them to square off.
A report by MMAFighting.com confirms just that, as the two troubled weigh-in fighters would be part of the July 9 event in Las Vegas.
Hendricks (17-4) has dropped two of his last three and is just 2-3 over his last five. After suffering a split decision defeat to Robbie Lawler for the welterweight belt, he bested Matt Brown. However, this past February, Stephen Thompson dealt “Bigg Rigg” his first career TKO defeat.
Gastelum (11-2) earned wins in his first 10 career fights, including five inside the Octagon. His run was halted in 2015 with a split decision loss to Tyron Woodley. After besting Nate Marquardt last June, he fell to Neil Magny – again via split decision – in November.
