Kyoji Horiguchi made the decision to move to Florida and train with American Top Team in hopes of showing the UFC he is ready for another shot at the flyweight belt.
Horiguchi did just that Sunday at UFC Fight Night 87, dominating Neil Seery to improve to 6-1 inside the Octagon. His lone loss came at the hands of champion Demetrious Johnson, who submitted him with a second left in the fifth round.
“I wish I could have finished the fight in the first round,” he said. “But I was happy to show everything; show the new Horiguchi.
“I wish to get a title shot again because that is the reason I moved to ATT.”
Horiguchi is now 17-2 overall in his career, while Seery is 16-12, including a 3-2 record over his last five.
