Kyle Noke delivered a perfectly-placed front-snap kick that left Peter Sobotta in excruciating pain and the Aussie with a win in his home country Saturday night at UFC 193.
Early in the first, Noke (22-7-1) saw an opening and connected. Sobotta screamed out in pain from the body kick and Noke followed, peppering him with shots until the ref stepped in.
“Mr. (Mike) Winkeljohn always tells me to let my kicks go and I just did,” Noke said. “I looked for the liver and blasted it.”
The victory was the second straight and third in the last four for Noke, who earned a decision over Jonavin Webb back in May after falling to Patrick Cote last year via decision. Overall, he is now 6-3 in nine UFC appearances.
“I’m starting to believe in myself more than anything else,” he said. “I’ve been pushing myself to the limit every day.”
Sobotta (15-5-1) had his seven-fight win streak snapped.
