Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson will headline the UFC on FOX 19 card this April, according to Nurmagomedov.
The two lightweight contenders are set for April 16 after an injury forced the cancellation of Ferguson vs. Michael Johnson.
Nurmagomedov (22-0) has not fought since April 2014 when he earned a decision over current UFC champion Rafael dos Anjos. He has won all six of his Octagon fights, including wins vs. dos Anjos, Pat Healy and Abel Trujillo.
Ferguson (20-3) sports a seven-fight win streak including victories over Edson Barboza, Josh Thomson and Danny Castillo.
These two were originally scheduled to meet in December, but an injury knocked “The Eagle” out. Ferguson, a former Ultimate Fighter winner, went on to defeat Barboza via second round submission.
