Justin Lawrence Using RFA As A Starting Point Back To The UFC

Justin Lawrence got his chance in the UFC, though it didn’t work the way he hoped. He was given the pink slip after going 1-2 and hopes to get another chance inside the Octagon. The 22-year-old looks to grab the UFC’s attention once again as he returns to action at Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) 10.

“At the end of the day, we’re all chasing titles, and I’m no different,” said Lawrence to MMA Weekly. “I’m chasing the RFA title and I plan on holding that thing for a while before I go back to the UFC. By that time I should be more a primed, more seasoned veteran.”

On The Ultimate Fighter 15, Lawrence wasn’t able to get past the quarterfinals. He later took an impressive win over John Cofer to get a contract. Lawrence also earned Fight of the Night and Knockout of the Night for the battle with Cofer. He then went to featherweight, dropped a pair and was released.

RFA 10 sees Lawrence take on Luis Saldana tomorrow, October 25. They’re the co-main event, which airs on AXS TV. FightLine will have the results.
