Josh Samman likely died from a drug overdose, according to the Broward County chief medical examiner.
Craig Mallak revealed on Tuesday that no toxicology report was performed on Samman because he was in the hospital for five days in a coma after being found. TMZ first reported the news.
Samman, a competitor on The Ultimate Fighter, died October 5 after he was found alongside Troy Kirkingburg in an apartment in Florida. Kirkingburg was pronounced dead on the scene, and his report came back with the presence of heroin, cocaine and ethanol in his system.
The 28-year-old Samman was 3-2 in the UFC, including a knockout of Eddie Gordon in 2014.
