UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo underwent an unannounced drug test on Thursday, according to a report by MMAFighting.com.
The urine sample Aldo provided, though, has been thrown out and will not be tested due to the person obtaining it not registering with the Braziian MMA Athletic Commission.
Ben Mosier from the Drug Free Sport lab, and sent by the Nevada Athletic Commission, did not obtain a proper visa to conduct the test. He was fined and ordered to leave the country of Brazil within the next eight days.
“We did everything they asked,” Pederneiras told Combate. “Before this whole mess started, Aldo had already done the test, (his urine) was in the cup. But when the Brazilian commission arrived, they saw that the sample wasn’t collected as it should.”
CABMMA’s Cristiano Sampaio, though, stated that they will obtain a urine sample from Aldo and sent it in with the other samples to be tested in the U.S.
Aldo is set to face Conor McGregor next month.
