Jose Aldo is one of the pound-for-pound best as the UFC’s featherweight champion. Out of his 24 fights, only once has Aldo not emerged the victor. While the champ can’t recall the details, he doesn’t want to taste defeat again.
“I cannot remember, think it was 2004, but I learned a lot in defeat, was at a good time,” said Aldo to TATAME. “When I fight I know that bad taste of defeat, one that does not want to feel again.”
Aldo held the title under the WEC banner and joined the UFC in 2011. He’s defended the belt seven times, with wins this year over Frankie Edgar and “Korean Zombie” Jung Chan-Sung.
The latest win came at UFC 163 in Aldo’s home country of Brazil.
There’s no exact word on when or against whom Aldo will meet next.
