Though Conor McGregor is stuck at home with an ACL tear, he made sure to let the featherweight division know he’s coming back to be the best. Champion Jose Aldo saw the tweet where McGregor insulted the Top 10 featherweights and wants to see if he can back it up.
“He’s starting now, but he is already saying some polemical things,” said Aldo to MMA Fighting. “It’s part of the business. The [talking] put him on the map, so now he will have to show everything he has talked about. It’s part of the business.”
McGregor came to the UFC from Cage Warriors and is 2-0 for the largest MMA promotion in North America. He made quick work of Marcus Brimage and got the decision over Max Holloway. He was injured in the Holloway bout.
Aldo defend his title in August, finishing the “Korean Zombie” Jung Chan-Sung. It was title defense number seven.
Both fighters have no return date inside the Octagon.
