Bellator MMA’s Jordan Parsons was set to compete this coming May 14 at Bellator 154.
Instead, he’s fighting for his life.
Parsons (11-2) was struck in a hit-and-run incident in Florida late Saturday night, and according to a report by MMAFighting.com, the featherweight lost part of his right leg.
“Bellator has been informed of a terrible accident that occurred last night involving featherweight fighter Jordan Parsons, who was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident. We are still in the process of uncovering details and with his family’s consent, hope to have an update on his medical condition soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jordan and his family as he recovers,” Bellator released in a statement. “The hit-and-run occurred on Lindell Blvd. and South Federal Highway in Delray Beach, Florida. Parsons was to meet Adam Piccolotti in San Jose. He was transported to the Delray Medical Center where the bottom half of his right leg was amputated.
