Jonathan Koppenhaver, a former UFC and Bellator fighter, appeared in a Las Vegas court Wednesday to face a bevy of charges, including assault.
In August, a nation-wide manhunt went down after Koppenhaver fled Las Vegas following an alleged assault of his former girlfriend, Christy Mack, and her friend. Mack is an adult-film star who appeared alongside Koppenhaver – who fought under the name “War Machine.”
According to a report by MMAjunkie.com, Koppenhaver faces 32 felony counts, including two counts of attempted murder. He also faces battery by strangulation, sexual assault, kidnapping and burglary, facing life in prison if fully convicted.
Koppenhaver was released from his fight contract with Bellator MMA after news broke of the charges. He holds a career record of 14-5, having spent a year previously in jail.
