For the fourth time since 2011, Jon Jones is in trouble with the law.
The former UFC light heavyweight champion was cited on January 31 for driving without a license, registration and insurance, according to KRQE News 13. “Bones” is due in traffic court this Wednesday morning.
Last year, Jones was suspended by the UFC and stripped of his title following a hit-and-run in New Mexico that sent a pregnant woman to the hospital. After accepting a plea deal in September, he was reinstated by the promotion.
It was just announced this past Saturday night that he would challenge Daniel Cormier for the title in April.
Jones’ first legal run-in came in 2011 when he was ticketed driving on a suspended license in New Mexico. A year later, he crashed into a pole and was convicted of driving while intoxicated in New York.
Part of his plea agreement involved remaining out of trouble.
