UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones issued his first public statement late Tuesday night since his hit-and-run incident in New Mexico this past weekend.
Got a lot of soul searching to do. Sorry to everyone I've let down.

Jones ran a red light and struck a car driven by a 25-year-old pregnant woman who needed medical attention for a broken arm. He left the scene of the accident, returning once to retrieve something from his rental vehicle.
After being booked Monday night, Jones was released upon paying a $2,500 bond. He appeared in court Tuesday, but was deemed not a risk and will be allowed to travel to Las Vegas for his upcoming fight with Anthony Johnson.
However, UFC president Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta were in Albuquerque to meet with Jones and his team, and reports are circulating that news will be released regarding that fight in the coming hours.
