UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and contender Daniel Cormier will appear before the Nevada Athletic Commission today to discuss their “brawl” from this past August.
Jones and Cormier face a possible fine and loss of their fight purse for the incident that took place during “Ultimate Media Day” in Las Vegas on August 3. The two fighters tumbled off the make-shift stage after bumping heads.
They were scheduled to meet this coming weekend, but a knee injury – suffered during training and not the brawl – caused the fight to be postponed until 2015 and UFC 182.
If you subscribe to UFC Fight Pass, you can listen in on the meeting beginning today at 11:30 a.m. ET. The full agenda for the NAC can be found on their official website. Wanderlei Silva’s lawyer is expected to be present, Bellator’s push to host fights during the Monster Energy Drink Cup event is on the agenda and two UFC fighters will likely receive their punishment for failed drug tests.
The Bellator request is the first item on the agenda for new business, while Jones and Cormier are items 29 and 30. Silva is up right after that, followed by Robert Drysdale’s hearing.
Also, boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather is listed.
