Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones finds himself once again behind bars.
Jones was arrested and booked at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico after violating the terms of his probation. The report was first made by TMZ.
Last week, Jones was pulled over and cited for drag racing, exhibition driving, weaving, failing to properly display a license plate and modifying an exhaust pipe. A bodycam used showed a heated argument between “Bones” and the officer.
Previously, Jones was placed under supervised probation after a hit-and-run incident – also in New Mexico – last April that sent a pregnant woman to the hospital with a broken arm.
A spokesperson for the Albuquerque district attorney’s office said he “didn’t expect” that Jones would be arrested for the infraction, according to a comment made to MMAjunkie.com.
Jones remains scheduled to face Daniel Cormier at UFC 197 next month for the title.
