Johny Hendricks won’t get another shot at the welterweight title in his next outing after all, as the former champ will face Tyron Woodley at the October 3rd, UFC 192. The card will take place in Houston, Texas.
The bout was announced on “UFC Tonight”, and the promotion has also retweeted news of the fight.
After Hendricks decisioned Matt Brown in March, everyone, including him, expected that “Bigg Rigg” would battle the champ Robbie Lawler for a third time next. More recently, however, there’s been talk that the promotion was looking at Lawler-Carlos Condit.
Well, according to “UFC Tonight”, UFC officials have confirmed that a bout between Lawler and Condit is being targeted for UFC 193 on November 14th (Bleacher Report originally broke the news). The problem is, however, that the promotion hasn’t locked up a venue yet in Melbourne, Australia, where they want the bout to take place. Other than that the fight is a go.
So, there you have it. A couple of big, big welterweight fights will go down this fall.
