Johny Hendricks dropped to his knees in utter shock after hearing the words “still” in regards to UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre defending his title Saturday night at UFC 167.
“I thought I clearly won the fight,” said Hendricks, who had his six-fight win streak snapped in the process. “Georges is a great guy.”
Hendricks turned towards the Las Vegas crowd and asked, “Did you guys see the same fight I just fought? Pretty sure I won.”
The decision gave GSP his ninth consecutive defense of the belt, and he stated afterwards plans to step away from the sport for now.
Hendricks didn’t want to hear any of that, though, as he believes a rematch is in order after the narrow decision loss.
“I want it (the belt),” he screamed. “I don’t care; I want that belt. That’s why I came in here, that’s what I earned.
“It was taken away from me, but I swear to God, it won’t happen again,” and he stormed out of the Octagon.
