John Lineker doesn’t know where he sits in the rankings of the UFC flyweight division, but thinks he can’t be too far from the top. A decisive win over Phil Harris at UFC Fight Night 30 will be enough to challenge for the belt.
“I have no idea how many fights I still have to do, but I hope this is the last before a title shot,” said Lineker to MMA Fighting. “I’m focused on this fight first, but I hope the next one is for the title.”
For the UFC, Lineker is 3-1 and stopped the last two with his fists. He has missed the flyweight limit on two occasions with the most recent occurring in his last fight.
Harris has been in the sport for a decade now. He’s 1-1 for the UFC, scoring a decision over Ulysses Gomez in his only appearance this year.
The main card of UFC Fight Night 30 opens with Lineker-Harris. It’s from England’s Phones 4u Arena this Saturday, October 26.
