Joey Beltran has been given his release from the UFC for the second time, according to the fighter himself.
Beltran posted on Twitter that he was cut following a recent loss to Fabio Maldonado. He is 14-9 with one no-contest in his MMA career.
“Thank you to UFC, Dana White, Lorenzo Feritta and Joe Silva for the opportunities you have given me,” Beltran wrote. “Time for a new chapter in my fight life.”
The 31-year-old moved down from heavyweight after his first release from the UFC. Beltran defeated Anton Talamantes, but went 0-2 with the one no-contest after that bout.
Beltran also lost four of his five UFC bouts between 2010-12, with the lone win coming over Aaron Rosa. He was defeated by the likes of Stipe Miocic, Pat Barry and Matt Mitrione.
