Greco-Roman wrestler Joe Warren has his chance today to get another title shot for Bellator. He takes on Travis Marx in the finals of the Season 9 bantamweight tournament at Bellator 107. Apparently, Warren has more than MMA gold on his mind.
“I always set my goals really high, so I’d like to win this fight first against Travis Marx, get an opportunity to get that [Bellator] belt, and then maybe win a world championship wrestling belt,” said Warren.
By turning 37-years old a week ago, Warren knows he can’t be an MMA fighter forever. The former Bellator featherweight champ returned to the promotion after spending most of this year working on Fight Master. He submitted Nick Kirk in two rounds to make the finals.
Marx is in his second Bellator tournament, having made it to the semfinals last time. After a close first round, Marx finished Brandon Bender to land in today’s finals.
Catch them on the main card of Bellator 107. It starts at 9 p.m. ET on Spike TV and features two other tournament finals.
