Joe Warren has angered the Mohegan Tribal Athletic Department, blaming them for almost ending his career. The former champ was supposed to fight at Bellator 98, but was removed suddenly when a neurologist noticed an issue. Several tests during the course of a few weeks and it turned out to be the wrong diagnoses.
Director of the Mohegan Tribal Athletic Department Mike Mazzulli isn’t taking any of the blame.
“I’m not going to take the responsibility for clearing a fighter that my neurologist states should not be in the cage,” said Mazzulli to MMA Junkie. “He should be grateful more than being so argumentative over the issue.”
It took a little longer than advertised, but Warren returned at Bellator 101 to defeat Nick Kirk. Warren’s second round armbar places him in the finals of the Season 9 bantamweight tournament.
Bellator 101 came from Rose Garden in Portland, OR.
