It’s the case of someone lying as Bellator’s Joe Warren reportedly submitted paperwork for a TRT exemption. The former featherweight champion denied the claims, which were made by the Mohegan Tribe Athletic Director Mike Mazzulli.
“I received a TUE from him,” said Mazzulli. “I accepted a TUE. It was all filled out by his doctors.”
While Warren disputes that he never used the substance, he was open to giving it a chance with a little more information.
“It’s something I haven’t even experimented with yet,” said Warren on MMA Junkie Radio. “It’s all doctors talking with me and my family physicians. So it’s something I’m open minded to, but I’m just not knowledgeable about it enough yet to even talk about it.”
Warren returned at last week’s Bellator 101, where he submitted Nick Kirk in the main event. He now advances to the finals of the Season 9 bantamweight tournament. There was a minor delay in his return, after not being medically cleared for a few weeks.
Bellator doesn’t have many fighters being public on their TRT use. Bellator’s new heavyweight Lavar Johnson is one of the latest additions who admitted to using TRT.
