Bellator returns to TV with Season 9 tomorrow and their co-main event is out the window. Joe Warren has been pulled after being declared medically unfit to fight by the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation. The condition isn’t known.
“Joe’s been with us since the beginning, and as is the case with every fighter here, it’s incumbent on me to ensure Joe is 100 percent healthy and medically cleared to fight before he steps into the Bellator cage,” said Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney.
The former Bellator featherweight champion was returning after a coaching stint on Fight Master. His opening round bantamweight tournament match with Nick Kirk has been scratched.
Lightweights Patricky Freire and Derek Anderson have been moved to the main card as a result.
Bellator 98 comes from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. It’s Saturday, September 7, with a main card on Spike TV following prelims at Spike.com.
