UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk doesn’t believe Karolina Kowalkiewicz is worthy of an immediate rematch.
Jedrzejczyk retained the title this past weekend at UFC 205, scoring a decision win over her fellow Polish fighter.
“No, come on,” Jedrzejczyk said on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour (thanks to MMAFighting for the quotes). “She lost the fight. It was like 10-8 every round. Maybe the fourth round she was dangerous for like 10 seconds.”
The champion said her bout shouldn’t be viewed anywhere close to the same as the UFC 205 welterweight title fight between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson. That fight ended in a majority draw.
“In Woodley and Thompson, Thompson deserved the rematch, you know, the fight was so close,” she said. “But come on, she can’t talk about the rematch. I heard she was running to Dana (White) right after the fight and asking for the rematch, but come on, come on.”
