Jimi Manuwa Out, OSP In To Face Shogun Rua At UFC Fight Night 56

ufc fight night 56

UFC president Dana White was a busy man Wednesday.

After announcing several new fights for 2015, White revealed that next Saturday’s main event for UFC Fight Night 56 has been changed.

Former UFC champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will now meet Ovince St. Preux after Jimi Manuwa suffered a broken foot in training. St. Preux was set to compete in the co-main event.

The main card airs on FOX Sports 1 from Brazil.

St. Preux (16-6) had his five-fight win streak snapped this past August at the hands of Ryan Bader. It was his first main event for the UFC. Prior to the loss, the former Tennessee Volunteer football standout had finished all five of his opponents.

He was slated to meet Rafael Cavalcante, but Cavalcante bowed out due to an injury. Francimar Barroso replaced Cavalcante, but it remains unknown if he will still compete on the card.

Rua (22-9) is coming off a knockout loss to Dan Henderson in March.

Below is the current lineup:
