Jason High Punishment To Be Left Up To New Mexico Commission

ufc fight night 42

With no Dana White to navigate through the UFC Fight Night 42 post-fight press conference, UFC Senior Director of Public Relations, Dave Sholler, was in charge.

Sholler’s night wasn’t easy, as he had to discuss an incident involving Jason High and the referee in charge of his match with Rafael dos Anjos. After the referee stopped the contest, High shoved him. While High apologized on Twitter, he is likely to be punished.

“Ultimately, that decision is going to be up to the commission,” Sholler said. “On behalf of the organization, completely unacceptable. You can’t put your hands on the official. We’ll figure out if there’s any other things that need to happen (on Monday).”

Nothing has been reported by the New Mexico Athletic Commission yet regarding a fine and/or suspension for High, who had his two-fight win streak snapped by dos Anjos.
