James Pennington enters today’s Cage Warriors 59 with two goals in mind. He wants to win the bantamweight tournament for the vacant title and looks for his first knockout victory. His first task is to get past Kris Edwards.
“I’d love to get my first KO,” said Pennington on MMA Junkie Radio. “Everything’s feeling pretty sharp at the moment. The thing is, you can’t go in there saying, ‘I’m going to KO him – I’m going to KO him.’ If the KO happens, it happens. You can’t predict it.”
At 8-1, Pennington has stopped seven fights via submission. This is his second appearance for Cage Warriors.
Edwards started his Cage Warriors run with two straight wins, but those were matched by defeats.
Cage Warriors 59 is today, September 14, and comes from the Motorpoint Arena in England. FightLine will have results later in the day.
