Invicta FC Closing Rumors False, Says President Shannon Knapp

Any talk about the demise of Invicta FC is false, as the promotion’s president Shannon Knapp said they’re looking to do some “clean-up” and “re-organization of the company.” Recently, Knapp revealed her business partner Janet Martin left Invicta FC and it wasn’t amicable.

“I’ve taken it over completely just recently,” said Knapp to Bloody Elbow. “We’re looking at a situation where for the past year and a half, I haven’t had access to some things I needed to properly run this company, and now that I’m starting to see everything, I see that a ton of errors were made, so I need to address those mistakes before I commit to all kinds of things and still be able to feel good about doing them.”

Invicta FC held their first event in April 2012 and it was an instant hit. They have one more show planned for the year.

That card feature three title fights in flyweight champ Barb Honchak vs. Leslie Smith, strawweight champ Carla Esparza vs. Claudia Gadelha and Lauren Murphy vs. Miriam Nakamoto for the inaugural bantamweight championship.

Invicta FC 7 is December 7 from the Ameristar Casino in Kansas.
