UFC 92 Medical Suspensions Released

UFC 92After UFC 92 "The Ultimate 2008" was over, 11 fighters were told that they must sit out while they get clearance to return to the Octagon.

Former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin will be out of action until at least June 27 because of a possible broken left hand that he suffered in his fight against Rashad Evans.

Here's a breakdown of UFC 92's medical suspensions:

Dan Evensen - Suspended until June 27 due to left knee damage (could be cleared early by orthopedic doctor). Suspended until January 28 with no contact until January 19 for precautionary reasons.

Patrick Barry - Suspended until January 28 with no contact until January 19 due to a right elbow injury.

Brad Blackburn - Must be cleared by neurologist for numbness in his right arm before next fight; suspended until June 27 due to nasal fracture (can be cleared early by ENT doctor); minimum suspension until February 12 with no contact until January 28 for precautionary reasons.

Reese Andy - Suspended until June 27 due to possible orbital fracture (can be cleared early by orthopedic doctor and negative CT Scan); minimum suspension until February 27 with no contact until February 12 for precautionary reasons.

Mat Hamill - Suspended until February 12 with no contact until January 28 due to cut under left eye.

Mike Wessel - Suspended until February 12 with no contact until January 28 for precautionary reasons.

Mostapha Al Turk - Suspended until June 27 due to broken nose (can be cleared early by orthopedic doctor); minimum suspension until February 27 with no contact until February 12 due to lacerations over left eye and on top of head.

Wanderlei Silva - Suspended until February 27 with no contact until February 12 for precautionary reasons.

Mike Massenzio - Suspended until January 28 with no contact until January 19 for precautionary reasons.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira - Suspended until February 27 with no contact until February 12 for precautionary reasons.

Forrest Griffin - Suspended until June 27 due to possible broken left hand (can be cleared early by orthopedic doctor and negative x-ray); minimum suspension until February 12 with no contact until January 28 for precautionary reasons.
