It has just been reported by TMZ.com that former undisputed UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has been charged with a felony hit and run and felony evading arrest in Newport Beach, California.

Jackson had apparently been involved in what was termed a "series of collisions caused by his truck" and subsequently left the scene. He then proceeded to evade the police until they finally caught up to and arrested the fighter.

Jackson, who may be facing additional charges has been booked into Orange County Jail and bail has been set at $25,000.

Police apparently received a report of an accident on the 55 Freeway in Costa Mesa involving Jackson's truck which had struck other vehicles and fled the scene.

Not long afterwards, a Costa Mesa police officer witnessed the highly decorated vehicle (with a large and highly conspicuous picture of Jackson on the side) get into another collision before fleeing up towards Newport Beach.

According to reports, Jackson was then willingly taken into custody and did not resist arrest.

There were also no injuries reported as the result of the incident.
