In what will be a matchup of two of the best bbj practitioners in the heavyweight division, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (30-4-1) will face Frank Mir (10-3) in his next fight; this according to Frank Trigg on his daily internet radio show TAGG Radio. Mir, the former heavyweight champion has battled back from serious injuries stemming from a motorcycle accident only three months after winning the championship in 2004. He made a comeback after 16 months of rehab but hasn't been the same fighter since the injury. He lost two fights in 2006 by KO and was unimpressive in another victory before finally showing a glimpse of his former self in an impressive submission victory at UFC 74 against Antoni Hardonk. No date has been set yet for the fight, but it could come as soon as UFC 79 on Dec. 29, when Nogueira has been rumored make his return to the octagon.
