With Tyron Woodley turning down the opportunity to fight Hector Lombard in Australia at UFC Fight Night 55, the former Bellator champion will not be meeting someone else.
Despite previous reports linking Lombard to the November card, he sent out a message on Twitter stating that will not happen.
“I want all my fans to know I won’t fight on Australia card in Nov since Woodley turned me down,” he wrote. “UFC has another plan but I will fight in 2014.”
The 36-year-old is coming off back-to-back victories over Jake Shields and Nate Marquardt. Lombard (34-4-1) is 3-2 in five UFC appearances since signing with them in 2012.
Lombard left Bellator as the middleweight champion, going 8-0 with the promotion.
The card will feature 185-pound contenders, as Luke Rockhold takes on Michael Bisping in the main event.
