Hector Lombard Wants Two Top Welterweight Names

Hector Lombard wasn’t thrilled when the UFC told him cut to welterweight or face a possible release. He’s changed his tune after finishing Nate Marquardt in less than two minutes in his welterweight debut at UFC 166. The former Bellator middleweight champion wouldn’t mind some top level competition from Martin Kampmann or Carlos Condit.

“I think that Carlos Condit is high ranked,” said Lombard on BJ Penn Radio.  “I’ll take Carlos Condit. I want to get one of those guys [Condit or Kampmann] first.”

Condit is currently linked to Matt Brown at UFC on FOX 9 and Kampmann has no return information. Kampmann was last defeated by Condit.

Lombard is now 2-2 for the UFC with both wins occurring in round one.
