Former UFC No. 1 lightweight contender Gray Maynard has signed a new contract with the UFC, according to a report by

Maynard (11-4-1) has lost three in a row and is just 1-4-1 in his last six dating back to a draw with Frankie Edgar for the title in 2011. The 35-year-old recently competed at “Grapple at the Garden,” defeating Ozzy Dugulubgov in a wrestling match.

“I just got a contract done,” said Maynard, who is targeting February or March for his return after going back to Xtreme Couture to train. “I came back, and I didn’t know how it would be. But it’s back to the team that it started out to be. It’s cool.”

Maynard has been training and living in both Phoenix and California, but has now moved back with his entire family to Las Vegas.

His last win came in 2012 via split decision over Clay Guida. Prior to a loss in 2011 to Edgar for the title, Maynard has been unbeaten, winning his first 10 pro fights after a standout wrestling career at Michigan State University.
