Combat sport fans have witnessed GLORY, a kickboxing company, make a splash since forming last year. To close 2013, they have several shows planned for the United States. Though kickboxing hasn’t garnered the attention such as MMA promotions Bellator and the UFC, GLORY’s Chief Executive Andrew Whitaker thinks they’re here to stay.
“We really do believe that this is the next big thing,” said Whitaker to MMA Mania. “We want people to, whether it’s at the event or on TV, to just watch it and I’m sure they will come to agree with us.”
After a few shows in Europe and Asia, GLORY has made two appearances inside the United States. Between September and November there are three shows planned. Key cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago and New York will host events during that time period.
Their last show was GLORY 9 on June 22 and it came from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Those results can be seen here.
GLORY will air their next three shows on Spike TV. It’s not known if the broadcasts will be live.
