Former WSOF Champion Not Happy With Lack Of Fights

Steve Carl is a former World Series of Fighting welterweight champion.

Since he lost the belt in March to Rousimar Palhares, though, he has been forced to sit on the sidelines and wait to compete again.

Carl is healthy and recovered from his injuries, but he hasn’t heard from the WSOF. So, the Iowa native has taken to Twitter to express his frustrations.

Carl (21-4) debuted with the WSOF in 2012 and submitted Ramico Blackmon in November. He didn’t fight again until the following June when he scored another submission, this time over Tyson Steele.

Officials booked Carl vs. Josh Burkman in October of last year, and Carl won, becoming the 170-pound champion. He dropped the belt in March to Palhares.

Carl won 13 of his first 14 pro bouts, including a split decision vs. Brett Cooper in 2010 in his Bellator debut. He went 2-2 inside the Bellator cage overall, including a decision to current champion Douglas Lima.
