Randy Couture On Stepping Out Of Retirement

Now that Randy Couture is officially no longer affiliated with the UFC, the question that everyone knew was coming has been thrown out there. Some have wondered if the UFC hall of famer will come out of retirement.

"I'm pretty comfortable with the decision I made and I think I got out at the right time," said Couture to Bloody Elbow. "It took a while to come to terms with that decision, but once I made it, it was the right one for me and I went out on my own terms."

After a knockout loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 129, Couture officially retired. It wasn't a shock, as leading up to the fight Couture said that at 47-years-old he was ready to call it a career.

That career started in 1997 with the UFC, where he spent a majority of his years. Due to disputes with UFC president Dana White, the two butted heads often and in public view. During his UFC days, Couture won the heavyweight and light heavyweight championship.

It was recently revealed that Couture had signed a contract with Spike TV and will work on the new Bellator reality show as a coach, which will air later in the summer.

Training and working with other fighters, including his son Ryan, fills any itch about possibly stepping out of retirement.
