Anderson Silva's next fight should be revealed within a few weeks after UFC president Dana White said he was waiting on one more thing before he determined the next challenger. The discussion has now shifted to light heavyweight Rashad Evans who competes later tonight against Antônio "Little Nog" Nogueira at UFC 156. Evans was open to top middleweight Chris Weidman getting the first crack at Silva in 2013."I love Weidman," said Evans on MMA Fighting. "Heck yea [he's worthy of a middleweight championship shot]. He's the toughest guy in that division and could be one of the toughest guys in my division. He's a beast."
Evans is coming off a light heavyweight championship loss and hasn't shushed the idea of dropping a weight class. Weidman is undefeated at nine wins, with five coming from the UFC since 2011. He's finished three of those UFC wins and is currently on the sidelines with a shoulder injury.
Evans is willing to fight Silva as he sees him as the best in the sport and wants to defeat who he considers the world's top MMA fighter.
