Daniel Cormier Has A Man Crush On Dan Henderson

Daniel Cormier (11-0) continued to roll through competition, keeping his undefeated streak in tack with a win over Dion Staring (28-8) at the final Strikeforce show. He now looks towards the UFC roster and wants Frank Mir (16-6) first, followed by a shot at light heavyweight champion Jon Jones (17-1). One fighter he doesn't have interest in is former title contender Dan Henderson (29-8).

"The reason I said I'd fight [Jones] in the fall is I'd need some time to get that weight down," said Cormier at the Strikeforce post-fight press conference. "I'm comfortable at 230 right now, but that's still 25 more pounds. I'd need some time to make weight and I don't want to fight [next] at 205 because I don't want to fight Dan Henderson. I've kind of got a man crush on Dan Henderson."

Before Strikeforce cancelled their November card, Cormier was set to meet Mir before an injury sidelined the former UFC heavyweight champion. Cormier has said he wants the UFC to make the fight happen on free TV as a way to introduce himself to a new audience.

Henderson is set to return at UFC 157 for the first time in 15 months after a knee injury knocked him out of being the No. 1 contender. The fight is expected to play a major role in who challenges Jones next.
Jones is set to defend his title at UFC 159 for a fifth time against Chael Sonnen (27-12-1). The two recently finished filming The Ultimate Fighter and meet in April for the title.

Cormier said at the post-fight press conference that he hasn't been told if he will join the UFC ranks, but UFC president Dana White has been a major supporter of the former Olympic wrestler and has been speaking about who he would fight well before his recent Strikeforce win.
