Mike Kyle Retires Following Strikeforce Loss
By Joseph Lisnow | January 13, 2013
Mike Kyle just walked by me seconds after losing to Gegard Mousasi and said, "It's not in me anymore. That was my last one."

Gegard Mousasi (33-3-2) needed only one round to submit Kyle with a rear naked choke at Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine. Kyle has competed in several MMA organizations for the last 12 years. He was one of the few fighters who remained with Strikeforce since their first show in 2006. Besides Strikeforce, Kyle competed for the UFC, WEC and KOTC.
The most recent loss made him 5-2, with two no contest, since 2010. His last victory was in 2011 against Marcos Rogerio de Lima and before that, he hadn't won since he TKO'd Steve Oliver in 2010.
Throughout his career, Kyle bounced between the light heavyweight and heavyweight division. He is a former XMMA and KOTC light heavyweight champion.
