UFC On Fox: Mike Easton Vs. Raphael Assuncao

Mike Easton vs. Raphael AssuncaoBantamweights enter the Octagon next, as Mike Easton (13-1) looks to remain undefeated in the UFC against Raphael Assuncao (18-4). The referee will be Steve Newport.
Round 1: Spinning kick to the body by Easton, as Assuncao counters with a jab. A training session between Easton, Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson would be something to see, as all three are guys that seem to never get tired. Easton with a quick, inside leg kick. Easton with a big right, as Assuncao appears to be looking to play the counter game. Another spinning kick attempt by Easton, but this one misses. Easton throws a combo at Assuncao, who moves out of the way. Nice left jab lands by Assuncao, who throws a kick to the body and a head kick that just misses. Overhand right by Easton, who has been hit with some solid kicks by Easton. Assuncao goes for a takedown, but Easton fights it off and remains upright with just under a minute to go.

Round 2: Assuncao misses with a spinning kick, and Easton tries to follow up. Easton is unable to do much damage, though, and they exchange leg kicks. Uppercut lands by Assuncao, as Easton answers. Counter right by Assuncao lands, as the Brazilian has done a nice job of changing styles and tempos to keep Easton off balance. Easton is wincing, as he says he got poked in the eye. Easton with a leg kick, and Assuncao answers back and lands a jab-combo. Easton catches a knee below the belt and we have a break in action. Upon review, Easton was not poked in the eye, he was punched directly in the eye. Ouch! And Joe Rogan goes off on his rant once again about low blows. Assuncao with a hook that lands and we go under a minute. Front-kick connects by Assuncao, who follows up and Easton shoots. Assuncao defends and remains upright.

Round 3: Easton's corner told him to attack this round, and he is doing that early on. Assuncao staying away and countering everything Easton throws at him. Kick by Easton is countered by Assuncao's straight jab. Combo from Assuncao connects. Assuncao goes for a takedown, tying up Easton, dropping levels and working a single-leg. Easton unable to fight it off, but springs quickly up and they square back off. Uppercut by Assuncao lands as Easton tries to hit a combo. Under a minute to go and Easton likely needs a finish to push his win streak to nine.
