UFC On Fox: Ramsey Nijem Vs. Joe Proctor

Ramsey Nijem vs. Joe ProctorWe have a pair of Ultimate Fighter veterans squaring off next, as TUF finalist Ramsey Nijem (6-2) faces Joe Proctor (8-1). The referee will be Dan Miragliotta.
Round 1: Like every other fight so far tonight, these two come right out. Nijem goes for a takedown and Proctor grabs the neck, working for a guillotine. Proctor controlling the action, but does not have the choke locked in anymore. They square off and unload on each other, throwing lefts and rights. Nijem misses an overhand right attempt. Jumping front-kick to the body by Nijm floors Proctor, and Nijem pounces, taking the back and throwing lefts and rights to the face of Proctor. Nijem missed a first attempt at the jumping kick, but went right for it and connected. Two-plus minutes left, and Nijem breaks Proctor down and takes the back. Blood pouring from the mouth area and Nijem mounts for a brief second. Nijem goes for a takedown and Proctor grabs hold of neck. Nijem drops down and transitions to the back, getting a hook in and moving to the back completely. Proctor rolls and gets to his feet, but eats a stiff jab. Proctor catches Nijem with a combo, and Proctor moves to side control.

Round 2: Proctor walks through a left from Nijem, who misses a jumping kick of his own. Proctor counters and connects, and walks through another of Nijem's strikes. Overhand right by Nijem, followed by a left jab, and Nijem appears to have a strong confidence going with his striking right now. Nijem gets countered, and nearly losses his mouthpiece. Proctor going for a submission, as Nijem takes him to the ground. Proctor unable to get the hold, and Nijem winds up in the guard. Proctor attempts a triangle, but Nijem stands up. Front-choke attempt by Proctor, pushing Nijem against the cage and squeezing hard. A minute left, and Proctor still controlling the action with a front-choke attempt.

Round 3: Nijem kicks the lead leg out of Proctor, as he follows with a body shot and an overhand right. Nijem tries for a takedown, but Proctor winds up on his back for a second. Proctor going for a potential armbar/kimura, but is unable to at this point. Nijem working for a potential submission of his own, as he takes the back of Proctor. Proctor explodes up after eating a few punches and attempts a guillotine, but Nijem blocks it and winds up on top. Proctor slips to the back and is going for a kimura, moves to an armbar with just under two minutes to go. Nijem works out of it and begins unloading. Nijem controlling the action, as Proctor tries to make something happen. Twenty seconds to go, and Nijem unloads on Proctor, landing several big strikes and knees to the body. A strong finish between the two to conclude this one.
