Bellator 83 Weigh-In Results: Featherweight Finals Set

Bellator 83 is a go for this Friday as the promotion hosts a nine fight card. The main event will be the finals of the Season 7 featherweight tournament. As with the previous tournaments, the winner earns $100,000 and a guaranteed championship shot.

Rad Martinez (14-2) and Shahbulat Shamhalaev (11-1-1) will meet in the finals. Martinez left his previous two fights in the judges' hands. Shamhalaev reached the end of the tournament by finishing his last two fights in the first round. Both are undefeated in Bellator.

Other action on the main card will see Zoila Gurgel (12-1) take on Jessica Eye (8-1) in the co-main event slot. The two are undefeated for Bellator with Gurgel up to six wins and Eye at two.

Zach Makovsky (14-3) returns after dropping the lightweight championship earlier in the year when he challenges Anthony Leone (11-5) to round out the main card.

Bellator 83 takes place from Caesars in Atlantic City, NJ. The main card airs an hour earlier then its usual time due to it overlapping with the Video Game Awards 2012. MTV2 will air the three fight main card starting at 7 p.m. Eastern Time. Spike.com will stream the preliminary fights.

After this show, Bellator has one more card left for 2012. Starting in January, the promotion will officially switch networks to Spike TV.
