By Dana Becker | December 05, 2012
UFC officials have been forced to make another change to an upcoming fight card, as Eddie Mendez has been forced out of a planned bout with Nick Penner at UFC On FX: Sotiropoulos vs. Pearson. The card takes place December 15 from Australia.
In place of Mendez will be UFC newcomer Cody Donovan (7-2). The bout is set to be part of the prelims from Broadbeach, Gold Coast.
Donovan has won three straight fights and is 4-1 in his last five overall. He earned a win over Brian Albin inside the Bellator cage.
Penner (11-2) dropped his UFC debut to Anthony Perosh, snapping an eight-fight win streak. Mendez was forced out with a shoulder injury.
